TECHNICAL INFORMATION
AUDITORIUM: The theatre is licensed for a maximum 231 - 131 being accomodated on tiered seating, the remaining 100 at floor level. The venue is equipped with a Sennheiser infra-red induction loop system for the hearing-impaired and there are also facility boxes with tie lines for sound, video and DMX lighting control around the auditorium. There is also an additional facility box which allows the use of a laptop computer at the front of the auditorium to be fed to the video projector which is located in the control gallery.

STAGE: Width 12.2 metres, wall to wall, depth 8.5 metres from front of apron to rear wall. The prosc arch opening measures 7.16 metres wide by 3.88 metres high. Because of the thrust stage, there are no FOH tabs. A 4 metre wide projection screen can be lowered from behind the prosc arch or the white back wall can be used as an alternative. A Canford talkback station is located at either side of the stage, linked to lighting and sound control, together with a video monitor fed from a wide-angle camera located at the rear of the auditorum. There are two flying rails for cloths or scenery and the usual black legs to either side of the stage.

SOUND: The Sinden is equipped with a 36 channel Soundcraft Spirit Live desk and a Spirit Folio 16 channel desk with Lexicon effects. Minidisc, CD, Computer and cassette are all available as play-in sources. A Behringer digital FX unit is also installed. A selection of cabled and radio mics is available together with a range of stands, boom arms etc. The auditorium is equipped with a five-speaker system, each controlled by a dedicated amp. A mic above the stage feeds both the induction-loop system and show relay to the dressing rooms. A dedicated PC offers a library of over 5,000 tracks for audience play-in music etc.
Because of the number of radio mic headsets that have been damaged during use by outside organisations, as from September 1st 2011, and in common with most other theatres, all theatre hirings by external organisations that require the use of radio mics, will incur an additional charge of £5 per day, per channel.
LIGHTING: A pre-wired lighting grid is installed acrossed the entire roof of The Sinden allowing complete flexibility with a total of 48 Zero 88 DMX channels. A good selection of luminaires, up to 1200w, is held in stock with a 1200w follow-spot completing the inventory. A 400w UV cannon is available at an additional cost of £25 per day. Control is via a Zero 88 Fat Frog or Sirius 24 full-memory desk.
VIDEO: A Sanyo 1400 lumens video/data projector is available giving a maximum screen width of 10 metres (subject to satisfactory lighting conditions).
ODDS & ENDS: A Gem Pro smoke machine and an Antari Hazer are available (fluid at cost). The Sinden carries a range of DHL gobos.
